Trade Spray Finishes Limited is a Leicestershire-based, multi-material finishing specialist.
We are a collaborative partnership having operated independent finishing companies for many years before forming TSPFL.
With years of experience finishing many types of substrate material to the highest quality standards, we can now expand our services to other trade professionals who strive to provide their clients with the highest-quality finish.
With our years of experience working with a carefully selected group of high-end furniture makers and point-of-sale professionals, we have the same desire for the finish. We know and understand the hours of meticulous craftsmanship that are put into a project, so we only provide an ultra high quality finish.
Using the highest-quality products available, we can offer you the quality finish your work demands. Our in-house mixing system allows us to mix most colour palettes on demand. When we can't do it ourselves, we trust our local supplier of the finest quality Italian coatings to deliver them to us the same day.
By using these trusted polyurethane coatings, for mdf spraying you can be confident about the finish, durability, and customer satisfaction.
We offer spray priming, spray staining, lacquering, final colour spray painting, or any combination of the four.
Top-quality products, coupled with expert application, will result in the highest quality finish available to you.
Ultramodern coatings have transformed the output quality available to the discerning professional today. They no longer need to rely on coating technologies from 20 years ago; they quite simply don't have the aesthetic the end user today expects.
Many projects in high end bespoke joinery manufacturing will often have a MDF substrate with a veneered surface. This surface needs protection and quite often, a new shade or hue is required to contrast or compliment surrounding decor and that is achieved by using a solvent or water based stain.
The stain will not protect the surface alone and will require some further protection in the form of a sprayed lacquer.
We are extremely proficient in the application of stains, whether a manufacturer supplied product or one that we have formulated ourselves. With our in house tinting processes, we can match or create virtually any shade you need. We then follow that up with a polyurethane based lacquer that can be specified in any sheen. Veneered sheet materials need to look the part and be durable enough to last the test of time, that's why we recommend using a PU based lacquer system.
Spray priming is a fundamental part of most spray processes. Nearly all substrate materials will require a primed coat prior to top coating with the final product. In the case of manufactured joinery, the primer gives the material a high build, which fills any small surface defects that are not visible to the naked eye and allows us to get a really flat surface after the sanding process. This gives the optimum base for the chosen top coat product. We use AC, PC and PU primers depending on the client specifications. We can also tint primers so that projects can be delivered and installed on site prior to being hand painted. This is often opted for when there are delays between on-site trades. We can offer a full spray priming service, where we prepare and fill, prime and nib, or we can just coat the product for aesthetic purposes. Overspill or overflow priming services are welcomed.
External joinery, such as windows and doors will almost always be manufactured from Accoya- a modified wood that has been treated to strengthen its longevity, allowing it to resist rot, withstand the elements, and remain strong and durable, or Sapele and similar hardwoods. This type of joinery needs to be protected to a higher degree than internal joinery due to environmental exposure. We use the Teknos water based system for this, it is a 3 part system that has been proven to last. If you make this type of joinery, then you are probably aware of the accepted joinery manufacturing process required by Teknos to be able to honour the 10 year guarantee they offer against coating failure. This system can be specified in all the major paint brand colours. We apply this system using our market leading Wagner Cobra air assisted diaphragm pump.
Please reach us at info@tradesprayfinishes.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, we only accept work from Companies and trade professionals. This allows us to concentrate fully on delivering the service our clients expect.
No, we work with Companies that only work with metal and plastics too. We are equally adept at applying our finishes to metal, plastics or acrylic. We use specific industrial coatings for this work and can recolour any product with a finish that will last. Specifically for one off's or prototyping, it is the cost effective approach.
Yes, we operate in 5,500 square foot of space, so even the largest projects have room to breathe. We utilise pallet trucks and racking to assist with moving projects around safely and for storing.
Prior to the work being received, we email you a job specification sheet that we ask you to complete. It will ask for job name, finish/finishes required, number of items/components, date required and any special requirements or instructions. We ask that you fill in and send it back to us by email. It's useful to print a copy off and attach to the work too. The finished work is then wrapped in foam and/or shrink wrapped, so it reaches you in perfect condition.
We'd like to of course but sometimes logistics and cost get in the way. We can offer a collection and delivery service but the project would need to justify it. You can deliver and collect, or send a transport company. We have forklift offloading capability. We are more than happy to at least try and see if it's a possibility, so get in touch.
That will depend on the size of your project and the specified finish. Current workloads will play a big part too. Our aim is to always say 7-10 days from receipt.
Spray finishing often isn't a one size fits all type of approach to pricing. This means that we would ask you for details of your project by email. This gives us scope to clarify everything that's required prior to agreeing the work. There is a PDF price list on the site ( link in the footer below) to give you a fairly accurate guide though. Should you have a continuous requirement, such as priming, we shall be able to agree a linear or square metre price quite quickly. Once the work is agreed, we ask you for a purchase order or an email of intent. This is then invoiced and payment is required within 30 days. All quotations will be subject to VAT @20%.
Yes, we can. All we ask for is that we get the technical data sheet in advance and that the product is supplied with all associated components if it's a multi component system and, finally, that the shelf life specified by the manufacturer hasn't expired.
That's a definite yes! Finishing has many more areas that aren't always apparent when searching the internet. Talk to us about your plans. We do high gloss, liquid metal, textured, epoxy or polyester, amongst others.
Absolutely! We use Kremlin and Wagner air assisted pumps with virtually every size tip available at our disposal. When we need to use a conventional compressor gun set up, we only use SATA guns. There isn't a finish we can't replicate.
Our own client discretion is uppermost at any time. Our Instagram page is virtually empty and that is because the work we do is the icing on the cake of the work others have done. It's not for us to publicly show that, or take any credit.
We stay in constant communication with our customers until the job is done. To get a free quote, or if you have questions or special requests, just drop us a line.
